What is an apprenticeship?
Apprenticeships combine study with practical training in a job and usually take between 1-4 years to complete.
You can apply for an apprenticeship if you are 16 or over, living in England and not in full-time education.
An apprentice may be a new or an existing employee and must be working towards achieving an approved apprenticeship standard or framework qualification.
Depending on the apprenticeship programme, on a practical basis, the apprentice could be 100% employer-based, attend college on a day or block release course. The course teaches the theory of the subject and some practical elements.
How much will you earn?

You will be paid not only for working hours (minimum of 30 hours per week) but also for the training (usually one day a week).

How long is an apprenticeship?
The duration of an apprenticeship training programme must be over 12 months, and for high level apprenticeships for some occupations requiring high level specialist skills, can last for 4 years.
Where will you study?
On the job, in your workplace or at one of our training centres.
How will you be assessed?
You will be assessed at your workplace or one of our training centres.
What do you gain if successful?
You will receive a nationally recognised qualification suited to your area. You will also receive workplace experience, with the possibility of a permanent position upon completion of your Apprenticeship.

My Business Administration apprenticeship has been one of the best choices I have made. Business is one of the few subjects I have always enjoyed and an apprenticeship was the ideal way for me to learn new skills and be able to apply them to a real working environment.
