Progression Routes
This unit opens up several clear progression pathways within the electrical and low-carbon sectors, particularly as demand for EV infrastructure continues to grow across the UK.
Learners who complete this unit can progress into more specialist roles such as EV charge point installer, electrical maintenance engineer, or inspection and testing engineer, working across domestic, commercial, and industrial environments. It also provides a strong foundation for moving into renewable and low-carbon technologies, including solar PV, battery storage systems, and smart energy installations.
For those looking to further develop their qualifications, this unit can support progression onto advanced inspection and testing certifications, broader electrical installation qualifications, or higher-level apprenticeships in electrical or building services engineering.
In the longer term, learners may move into supervisory or project management roles, start their own electrical or EV installation business, or specialise in compliance, commissioning, or consultancy within the evolving energy and transport sectors.
