T-Levels Work Placement
Luke Stebbings
Mears Group – Electrical Division, Domestic Housing Dept, West London
“ This is great for my real-world experience and practical knowledge for the work environment of an electrician. Every day I am working on something different, fault finding, repairs, rewiring, maintenance. communication with different kinds of client and work colleagues, which was addressed in class earlier in the year. This has helped me display the knowledge I have obtained with MITSkills this year. ”
Learning and Development
“ I started my T-level electrical course with MITSkills in 2024 after leaving school. I wanted to get a technical level qualification to help me obtain an electrical apprenticeship. I really enjoyed the electrical practical workshop activities at the MITSkills training centre. I also gained new knowledge that made me feel so much more confident getting ready to move into the working world, industry regulations, management styles such as sustainability into daily working practices and understanding new technologies in the engineering and construction world including smart buildings and infrastructure. “

On-the-Job Performance
“ From a professional standpoint, Luke has consistently shown great punctuality, a positive attitude, and a neat appearance. His understanding of health and safety procedures, along with a growing familiarity with electrical regulations, has enabled more technical and professional communication on-site. “
Mark Stephens – Mears Electrician

Reflection
“ I have been able to adapt the knowledge from class to my work placement. I’ve learned how to behave professionally, and have a better understanding of health and safety regulations and basic electrical practices. My mentor at MEARs was able to communicate and teach me things at a better pace with my knowledge from my first year. I am really enjoying the work placement and look forward to completing the second year of my T-Level with MITSkills as it is focused on my chosen field of being an electrician. “
