What is an Apprenticeship?

Apprenticeships combine study with practical training. An apprentice must be employed; they may be an existing employee or a new hire. The apprentice must be working towards achieving an approved apprenticeship standard or apprenticeship framework qualification. On a practical basis the apprentice may attend college on a day or block release course. The course teaches the theory of the subject and some practical elements.

How long is an Apprenticeship?

An Apprenticeship usually takes between 1 and 4 years to complete. depending on the apprenticeship Framework or Standard and the individual applicant.

How much does an Apprentice cost?

During the Apprenticeship the Apprentice is entitled to the National Minimum Wage which currently starts at £3.90 per hour, and increases with the age of the Apprentice.
