Physical Education and School Sport Apprenticeship Level 2 and Level 3

This qualification is suitable for those who wish to gain new skills in a physical education and school sports setting. This apprenticeship could be for you if you have the passion, enthusiasm and fun factor to engage children and young people in physical activity.

  • 16 + working in the industry

  • Safeguarding the welfare of children and young people

  • Maintain and support relationships with children and young

  • Prepare and maintain learning environments

What will I need for the course?

  • You should have a positive, motivating, can do attitude and be willing to work both as part of a team or on your own. You should be motivated to succeed.

How will I be assessed?

  • Your skills and knowledge will be assessed in the work place by an appointed assessor/tutor who will assess your skills, competence and knowledge.
  • You will be assessed in one or more of the following ways:
  • Coursework
  • Exams
  • Portfolio of evidence
  • Workplace assessment

How long is the course?

  • Level 2 is 18 -24 months,
  • Level 3 is one additional year.

What will I gain if successful?

  • After completing your framework and becoming successful you would have many job opportunities which include: Working as a physical education and school sport professionals e.g. as higher level teaching assistant , teaching assistant , sports coach, sports development officer, sports volunteer or sports leader.

How much does it cost?

  • For all candidates aged 16-18 the course is fully funded by the Government. It is available to anybody working in the industry.
  • Outside of the 16-18 age group costs will be dependent on individual candidate and employer details.
