Electrical Installation Apprenticeship Level 3

The qualification is suitable for anyone aged 16 and above  who wishes to become an electrician and work in the commercial sectors, regardless of previous experience or knowledge listed below. This course will train you from the ground up even if you have no electrical experience.

  • 16 + working in the industry

What will I study?

  • This course covers a range of training methods and you will learn both hands on installation skills in our purpose built workshops as well as the theory and science behind electrics.
  • Level 2 Diploma in Electrical Installations Electrical Installations Technology – mainly theory based
  • Principles of Electrical Science - Mainly theory Based
  • Installation of Wiring Systems and enclosures – Practical and Theory
  • Training Health and Safety in Building Services Engineering - Practical and Theory
  • Training Understand how to communicate with others within Building Services Engineering - Practical and Theory
  • Training Level 3 Diploma in Electrical Installations
  • Health and Safety in Building Services Engineering - Practical and Theory Training
  • Principles of Electrical Science - Mainly theory Based
  • Electrical Installations :Inspection, Testing and Commissioning - Practical and Theory Training
  • Electrical Installations: Fault Diagnosis and Rectification - Practical and Theory Training
  • Understand the fundamental principles and requirements of environmental technology systems - Mainly theory Based
  • Electrical Systems design - Practical and Theory
  • Training Career awareness in building services engineering - Mainly theory Based

What will I need for the course?

  • You will need to be employed in the industry and attend the centre one day per week.

How will I be assessed?

  • You will be assessed in one or more of the following ways:
  • Course work
  • Exams
  • Portfolio of evidence
  • Practical demonstration /assignment
  • Practical examination
  • Written examination

How long is the course?

  • This course lasts between 30 - 36 months

 

What do I gain if successful?

  • After completing your level 3 advanced apprenticeship you could go into a job in the trade

How much does it cost?

  • For all candidates aged 16-18 the course is fully funded by the Government. It is available to anybody working in the industry.
  • Outside of the 16-18 age group costs will be dependent on individual candidate and employer details.
