Operations Team Leader/Section Supervisor Apprenticeship Level 2 and Level 3

This apprenticeship has been designed to provide access to development opportunities for as wide a range of individuals as possible. This includes individuals who are at the start of their career in leadership and management and who wish to take their first steps into professional management. It is also appropriate for those already in management roles who may already have developed practical experience but who wish to develop their theoretical understanding of management skills.

What will I study?

  • This qualification gives you the opportunity to prepare for up-skilling to Level 3 in jobs such as driving goods vehicles, traffic office, warehousing. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge at Level 2 whilst working in the various parts of the logistics business. This will enable you to better understand which part of the sector you want to specialise in.
  • The Level 3 Certificate in Logistics Operations aims to support you within distributive operations such as dealing with the handling and storing of goods within commercial , industrial or removers’ warehouses, or freight facility, movement of goods, customer service and stock control.

What will I need for the course?

  • You will need to be employed with a company and attend college once a week or be seen by your training provider regularly.

How will I be assessed?

  • You will be assessed in one or more of the following ways:
  • Course work
  • Exams
  • Portfolio of evidence
  • Practical demonstration /assignment
  • Practical examination
  • Written examination

How long is the course?

  • Level 2 is 18 -24 months,
  • Level 3 is one additional year.

What do I gain if successful?

  • If successful in completing your level 2 intermediate apprenticeship you could progress onto an advanced apprenticeships in any Logistics related role. After completing the level 3 advanced apprenticeship you could progress onto a job such as a Traffic Office, Team Member, Lead Driver, Senior Warehouse Operative.

How much does it cost?

  • for all candidates aged 16-18 the course is fully funded by the Government. It is available to anybody working in the industry.
  • outside of the 16-18 age group costs will be dependent on individual candidate and employer details.
