NAMED AS ONE OF TOP TRAINING PROVIDERS IN THE COUNTRY BY GOVERNMENT WATCHDOG

West Byfleet based MIT was named as one of the top training providers in the country, by the government body responsible for the quality of education and training for adults and young people.

At the launch of his annual report for Chief Inspector, David Sherlock said “I am delighted to be able to name MIT as one of this year’s outstanding providers. They have demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to achieving the very highest standards of the industry. Young people can be confident that they will receive first class support to reach their full potential. To be one of the top training providers in the country is a tremendous achievement and a great credit to the team at MIT.

MIT offers industry specific training to employers, schools and young adults in Surrey, Hampshire, London and the surrounding counties, they deliver apprenticeship training on behalf of the government bodies in employer premises and at their training centres in West Byfleet.

Some of the feedback the inspectors heard from current apprentices undergoing their training with Motor Industry Training included:

  • Staff are friendly and know what they are talking about
  • Regular contact with staff who are helpful and supportive
  • The teaching is ‘spot on’
  • The help we get
  • Portfolio and support days are a big help
  • Like doing practical work
  • Good response from assessors

The Inspectors also received the views of employers on how responsive MIT was to their needs. MIT Managing Director Hisham Zubeidi said, “We have worked hard for several years to ensure that the quality of our provision is constantly improving. I am delighted that the inspectors have recognised our hard work in this way”.

All training companies delivering government funded programmes like apprenticeships are subject to regular inspection by Ofsted.

MIT was awarded a “Good” grade for both training and for its leadership and management systems, and is a great result for the company, which is still rapidly expanding. This recent acclaim is not new to MIT as they were personally congratulated for their work with Industry and young people by the Prime Minister at a reception held at number 10 Downing Street.
